To the left you can find the navigation bar for the English pages. The Stories and tales has a collection of humorous events that the club members have encountered. The Drop your bike is the collection of the usenet bike drop methods, more that 150 entries for your education and amusement. The Mc links -page has all Finnish motorcycle related links with link rating and explanations.

The MC BajaHill got it's name by the part of the town the early club members used to live in, "Pajamäki". In short MC BajaHill is a virtual motorcycle club for virtual Finnish people. The club was founded about the same time as the DoD (hint, search "DoD and motorcycle and usenet") with a difference that BajaHill as a club nor the KoTL is no secret... Instead, joining requires quite a lot of work (and Finnish language knowledge).

Through out the history of the virtual club the MC BajaHill has been helping several motorcycle organizations over the first steps in the information highway, such as the Lady's Bike Club ry, the SMOTO and the Modified Motorcycle Association of Finland. Today the MC BajaHill web site is one of the busiest and best known Finnish motorcycling sites.

Virago's back seat

Virago's slightly modigfied backrest Here is a picture of XV1100 slightly modified back seat and back rest. The original seat was too short, too narrow and the foot begs were too up. Also, the original back rest has too low angle and it was not high enough. Motorcycling is fun as long as the passanger is having fun...

I opened the seat cover and added about 2 inches of mattress to the center of the back seat. This resulted the seat being 2 inches higher, 3 inches longer (due to loosing the cup shape) and about 1 inch wider. As a plus the higher seat affected to the foot pegs to be low enough for comfort.

The back rest is created from wood and pieces of old mattress and it fits to the original rest bar. It is about 3 inches longer than the original and the leaning angle is now steeper (=upper). The leather work was done by a local shoemaker and it costed about $20,-.

Alltogether the modifications to the back seat took one weekend, it costed nothing exept for the leather work for the back rest.

Miscalleneous

Here are a few interesting documents we found from NEWS:wreck.machinebikes. The other one tells you the important things to remember on winterization of your bike and the other one gives some good hints on buying an used bike, heck why not use it for periodical maintainance.
